Try something new!!

Image
I have always loved hand-turned items: bowls, pens, etc.  My husband, Mike, has gotten a lathe and has started making things.  I've been behind a lathe "officially" 3 times now.  Yesterday afternoon I made something new!  I turned my 2nd pen, but this one is in polyresin, and it is highly amusing to watch the ribbons  of material fly off the blank.  I looked like a cotton-candy factory exploded all over me...😅😅 "Spin" can also mean "turn"...right?😎  Isn't she pretty?! #Penturners #womeninturning

"Thanks" for stopping by!

So. In our last episode, I said that I would show you all a fun card for National Orange and Lemon Day.  That was last week!  Where did the time go?  So without further delay, here's a sunny Thank You card using the Sweet Citrus (160641) Bundle.  It's such a happy card! I used 2 bright yellows, as well as Starry Sky ad Parakeet Party 23-24 In-colors to create a cheerful Thank You card.   I will be featuring this in the April Craft-n-Chat, on April 15th (Tuesday) and 18th (Saturday).  This will be an in-person class, so if you would like to join us, head over to my FB page and click "Going".

Biker Chic

Image
Like I promised, here is a chic version of  the suite.  I used the embossing folder, which gives the silver foil a "diamond plate" look.  I love the Bermuda Bay paired with Basic Black and silver.  Remember the dsp I mentioned yesterday?  Well it can be a little overwhelming, I just fussy-cut some of the roses.  Put a few dimensionals in strategic places for depth, and all done! This suite of products in on pages 68-69 in the Jan-Apr 2023 Mini Catalog, so don't wait to get yours.  Riding season is almost here (we keep getting white stuff here in N. IL), so why not have some cards or home decor (oooh, this gives me ideas) ready to give to your favorite bikers? Later today I will have an Ode to National Oranges and Lemons Day.  Hahahaha.

Spring Means.... Motorcycles!

Image
Well, it's supposed to be nearly spring here in Northern Illinois, but.... the cold temps and snow out the window show otherwise.   But that doesn't mean we can't dream, right?? I think there's an overlooked suite in the January - April 2023 Mini Catalog called "Ready To Ride".  Yep, it's motorcycles.  But it's not just to make masculine cards.  There is one particular sheet of Designer Series Paper that is beautiful silver-grey roses with an embossed feel to it, which will be the next paper that I play with!  In the meantime, here's a quick n easy card to celebrate that biker birthday for someone you know.  I mean, the DSP did all the work!  Add some subtle color (Soft Succulent) and pops of Real Red, use stitched dies for that "stitched leather" look, some of the studs included with the Suite, and tah-dah.... insta card. I promise, that motorcycle is Black ink on Very Vanilla cardstock, my camera washed it out. Here's another view....

Craft & Chat is Tomorrow!

Image
We will be crafting again tomorrow!  Since Mother Nature can't seem to make up her mind about the weather, here in the upper Midwest, one of the cards will be a Get Well card.  It will feature the Tea Boutique Suite, and Speedy Recovery stamp set, both still available in the current Annual Catalog. The second card is made with the Playing in the Rain bundle, and the coordinating February 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit.  Stampin'Up did an amazing job getting these sets to completely work together!  Sadly, this kit in no longer available, but I'm hoping it will serve as inspiration and incorporating elements from previous PP kits into our cards and crafts. And if these aren't enough... we will be doing some 3D paper crafting, too.  But that will have to be a surprise!  I will post pictures of the finished projects after class tomorrow. Visit: My Stampin'Up page   Here , for my class calendar and also to view these and other exciting products.
